Free, confidential services for women and girl-identifying, trans and non-binary persons 16 years of age or older, who have experienced the impact of sexual assault / harassment / exploitation / abuse, past or present.

24 Hour Crisis Intervention Including a 24-Hour Crisis Line

quotes4Support, assistance, information, referral and individualized response for victims of sexual assault/harassment/abuse. Family members or friends who are in need of support or require information that will assist them in supporting their loved one are welcome to call the Crisis Line. CKSACC staff members or volunteer crisis-line workers will respond to crisis and support calls at 519-354-8688.

Safe Support Chat

Our online Safe Support Chat is a secure and private chat service created for the Ontario Coalition of Rape Crisis Centres. Our online chat is available on the second Tuesday of the month from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. and the last Wednesday of the month from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Through the online chat you can expect to connect with a CKSACC staff member or volunteer who will support you if you or someone you care about has experienced the impact of sexual assault, harassment or abuse. Our online chat is available for folks who are 16 years of age or older. When the chat is active, a chat box should appear on the bottom right of the screen on our website. Keep an eye on our social media for Safe Support chat updates. 

Support & Advocacy

Short- or long-term support counselling, as well as information, advocacy and assistance with such matters as housing and basic needs, human rights concerns, community organizations and programs, social services etc. are available. Survivors can schedule appointments by calling the CKSACC crisis line Monday through Thursday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 519-354-8688.

Counselling services are available to male victims/survivors of sexual abuse at Family Service Kent: 519-354-6221.

Outreach

Through co-operative efforts with community partners CKSACC support services are available at specific locations throughout the Municipality of Chatham-Kent. In addition, the CKSACC participates in the organization and planning of joint endeavours with other equality-seeking social/justice community groups to promote respect and address issues of inequality and marginalization.

Awareness and Prevention

CKSACC offers public education and awareness to increase understanding and consciousness about systemic roots and causes of gendered violence, and ending sexual assault / harassment / abuse.

Information and Referral are provided as required to meet individual circumstances.
